Greetings,
When you join the Army health care team, you become a member of one of the largest comprehensive health care systems in the country. The medical team consists of physicians, dentists, nurses, veterinarians, researchers, and many other fields. The benefits are tangible and intangible, serving our Service Members, their families, and the country. You can choose to serve full time around the country, or part time within the community one weekend a month and two weeks a year. Your experiences could include providing treatment one day, and supervising the set-up of a mobile hospital another day. You may find yourself teaching, providing trauma care, or even taking charge of an entire hospital. It’s a unique combination of medicine and adventure that you’ll find both exhilarating and satisfying.
The incentives include up to $250,000 repayment of education loans for physicians in designated specialties. An annual bonus of up to $50,000 depending on specialty, serving part time, as well as opportunities to be part of humanitarian missions. The operating costs, to include malpractice insurance are covered. Medical students and residents can qualify for the stipend program earning $2276.10 a month, and upon completion of residency, receive the bonus and loan repayment. Students entering medical schools can also qualify for a 100% tuition paid scholarship to any accredited medical school.
