

David L. Cowen, MD passed away December 27, 2019 at the age of 85. Dr. Cowen was initially recruited by the Department of Community Medicine at UK in 1974 where he later became the chairman. He spent 30 of his 45 years in medicine at the University of Kentucky. After his retirement, Dr. Cowen served for several years as the Medical Director of the Refuge Clinic. He was an active member of the Lexington Medical Society from 1973-1999. Dr. Cowen is survived by his four children, 9 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. James Orr, MD, 88, passed away December 31, 2019. Dr. Orr attended medical school at the University of Louisville and did his residency at the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. He also served as a Captain in the US Air Force. Dr. Orr spent most of his 40 year medical career practicing at the Lexington Clinic & St. Joseph’s Hospital. He began his membership in the Lexington Medical Society in 1962 and remained active until his death. Dr. Orr is survived by his two children, six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. George Park, MD passed away January 1, 2020 at the age of 85. Dr. Park was a graduate of UK and Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. He served in the medical corp in Vietnam before moving to Lexington to join the Lexington Clinic where he practiced for 52 years. Dr. Park had been member of the Lexington Medical Society since 1967. He is survived by his wife, three children, and six grandchildren. Memorial contributions can be made to Bluegrass Care Navigators.
