For distribution to Kentucky healthcare providers:

Dear Healthcare Agenicies and Healthcare Providers:

Cases of monkeypox virus have been confirmed in the United States and clusters have been reported in Europe. The Kentucky Department for Public Health (KDPH) is monitoring the situation nationally and within Kentucky.  KDPH has prepared the attached guidance to assist healthcare providers in assessing patients with potential Monkeypox infection.  Also attached is a fact sheet about the Jynneos vaccine for your information – KDPH currently has limited supplies which will be prioritized for post-exposure prophylaxis as noted in the attached guidance document.

Thank you for your vigilance in detecting emerging pathogens such as this.  Please refer to the attached guidance if you have questions or would like to consult with KDPH about a possible case.
