2024 LMS President’s March Video Message: Advocacy – Introducing Dr. James Dahle, “The White Coat Investor” & Legislative Update

Introducing Dr. James Dahle, “The White Coat Investor” & Legislative Update

Meet Dr. Jim Dahle, the White Coat Investor! Dr. Dahle will be here in Lexington on March 21st at our LMS Dinner Social. Register below- you will not want to miss it! An emergency medicine physician, Dr. Dahle wants to help physicians gain financial literacy by providing unbiased financial education. The White Coat Investor is one of LMS’s highest attended events and cuts across all demographics, from medical students, to residents, to active physicians at various stages in their careers, to retired physicians.

February was a big month for legislative advocacy for both LMS and KMA members with visits to representatives in Congress and the Kentucky legislature to discuss issues such as Medicare payment reform and prior authorizations. Please continue to reach out to your representative and ask for their support for HB317, which would automatically waive prior authorization requirements for physicians with a 90% approval history for a specific procedure or service.

We also want to get your feedback on interest in an LMS fall symposium on medical use of artificial and augmented intelligence. Do you have interest in this topic? Are you currently using AI for medical purposes, and if so, how?

Links to the White Coat Investor registration, KMA’s prior authorization information page, and a very brief AI symposium survey are below. I hope to see you on March 21st at the LMS Dinner Social featuring The White Coat Investor!
