  1. Eligibility
  • Open to currently enrolled medical students at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine.
  • Submission can be done by up to a group of three.
  • Each participant or group may submit one video.
  1. Contest Objective

Participants will create a one-minute video addressing a public health topic of their choice to promote education and awareness.

  1. Video Requirements
  • Length: Maximum of 60 seconds. Please record your video in landscape orientation
  • Format: Original visual and audio content created by the participant.
  • Topic: Any public health–related topic.
  • Tone: Educational and advocacy-focused.
  • Language: English (subtitles optional).
  1. Submission & Privacy
  • Submit your video and individual/group contact information at this link.
  • Videos must be uploaded in a private or unlisted format so that they are viewable only by the judging panel.
  • Acceptable platforms include:
    • YouTube (unlisted link)
    • Google Drive
  • Participants will submit the private/unlisted video link via the official contest submission form.
  • Videos should not be publicly posted during the judging period.
  • Do not use commercial music or songs due to copyright restrictions. You can use royalty free music.
  1. Public Display of Winning Entries
  • Only the top three winning videos will be displayed publicly.
  • By accepting an award, winners grant the Lexington Medical Society permission to:
    • Share their video on LMS platforms (e.g., website, social media)
    • Use the video for educational and outreach purposes
  • Non-winning entries will remain private and will not be shared publicly.
  1. Originality & AI Use Policy
  • All submissions must be the participant’s original work.
  • Use of AI-generated scripts, narration, visuals, or avatars is not permitted.
  1. Privacy, Consent, & Professionalism
  • No patient-identifiable information may be included.
  • Videos must comply with HIPAA, UKCOM professionalism standards, and LMS policies.
  1. Judging Criteria

Entries will be evaluated on:

  • Accuracy and clarity of the public health message
  • Creativity and engagement
  • Relevance to community health
  • Professionalism
  • Overall impact
  1. Awards
  • 1st Place: $1,000
  • 2nd Place: $500
  • 3rd Place: $250
  1. Important Dates
  • Submission Opens: February 2, 2026
  • Submission Deadline: April 30, 2026 @ 11:59pm
  • Winners Announced: May 12, 2026 at LMS Dinner Social
