Supported by the LMS Foundation: Baby Health Services

Baby Health Services
By Ann-Phillips Mayfield, Philanthropy & Community Engagement Coordinator,
Baby Health Services, ap@babyhealthlexington.org

In 2025 Baby Health Services served close to 2000 children and we are on target to serve that number or more in 2026.  Thanks to the funds and generous support of the Lexington Medical Society, we will be able to ensure we have the needed vaccinations and medications on hand to care for our patients.

Since 1914 Baby Health Services Inc. (BHS) has provided high-quality, compassionate healthcare to children ages birth through 18 years of age in Lexington and surrounding areas who are uninsured and ineligible for public or private health coverage. As a non-profit pediatric clinic, our mission is to ensure that every child—regardless of socioeconomic or immigration status—has access to the healthcare they need to grow, learn, and thrive.

BHS operates Monday-Friday 7:30am-8:45 for sick call and 9-noon for well child visits. Our services include immunizations, preventative screenings and referral dental care. We are run by a generous group of volunteer doctors and community volunteers and limited paid staff. We rely on private fundraising and heavily on the monetary support of grants such as the one awarded from Lexington Medical Society.

We are always looking for new referral dentists to add to our network, volunteer doctors to serve in the clinic, community members to serve on the board and opportunities for funding so that we can continue to serve each patient that is in need of our services.

We are grateful for the many years of support from the Lexington Medical Society and all the children we have been able to care for because of your generosity.
