Canceled: Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Workshop – February 10, 2024
Mindfulness provides physicians with a portable toolkit of practical skills for self-care, patient care and caring. Mindfulness enhances mental focus and clarity despite the pressure of medical practice. It helps physicians listen more carefully and compassionately to patients and approach problems in a fresh, open-minded way. It can help counteract the worrying, perfectionism and self-judgment that are so common among doctors. Mindfulness can prevent or reverse burnout and improve well-being. For over 40 years, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) has been the worldwide “gold standard” to which other mindfulness courses are compared. This 4-hour workshop is an experiential orientation to the basic MBSR skill set with physician peer support and confidentiality.
Special Instructions: Casual, loose-fitting clothing will permit gentle movement practices.
