
Shifting the Lens: COVID-19 Policy Lessons for Reducing Kentucky’s Health Inequities

African-Americans and other persons of color in Kentucky and across the country have experienced significant and disproportionate incidence and deaths related the novel coronavirus, revealing the persistent health inequities faced by persons of color. While the reasons behind these disparities are both systemic and enduring, they can and must change.
The Kentucky Medical Association (KMA) and the Foundation for a Healthy Kentucky will present “SHIFTING THE LENS: COVID-19 Policy Lessons for Reducing Kentucky’s Health Inequities,” Thursday, Nov. 19 from 1:30-3:00 p.m. ET. Presenters will share lessons that policymakers, opinion leaders and health advocates can learn from Kentucky’s response to the pandemic, and will speak to policies that can be put in place both short- and long-term to raise health outcomes for persons of color in the Commonwealth.
