Why did you become a physician?

Medicine has been part of my life for as long as I can remember, largely because several of my family members have faced serious neurologic illnesses. Those experiences gave me an appreciation for the profound impact physicians can have—not only on patients, but on the families walking alongside them. While they sparked my interest in medicine, it was an early fascination with neuroscience, inspiring mentors and teachers, and the privilege of caring for others that ultimately led me to neurology.

Tell us about your educational and professional background.

I grew up in Louisville before moving to Lexington to attend the University of Kentucky for my undergraduate education. I was fortunate to stay for medical school, and now I’m grateful to continue my training here as a neurology resident at UK. Along the way, I’ve become involved in clinical research and medical education while developing a broad interest in neurologic disease. Lexington has truly become home, and I’m thankful to be training in a community that has invested so much in my growth.

What are your interests outside of medicine?

Outside of medicine, I enjoy just about anything that gets me outdoors. My fiancée and I love to travel and hike, from weekends at Red River Gorge to trekking through the Himalayas of Nepal, and we’re always looking ahead to our next adventure. At home, I’m happiest spending time with my co-residents, friends, and family, whether that’s playing pickleball or working on the backyard of my first home. Lately, creating a garden and outdoor space has been a fun way to unwind outside of residency.

Why did you join the Lexington Medical Society?

The Lexington Medical Society welcomed me long before I became a resident. As a medical student, its events gave me opportunities to connect with physicians across our community, get involved outside the classroom, and build confidence as I prepared for residency. Those early experiences showed me the value of mentorship and professional community. As I continue building my career in Lexington, I’m excited to stay involved, learn from physicians across specialties, and give back to the same organization that invested in me early on.
